The Executive of the Association consists of the Officers and Senior Officers. The Committee of the Association consists of the Officers, Senior Officers, Elected Members and Co-opted Members. We’re always looking for enthusiastic people to get involved in running CUCA. If you want to know more, please ask an officer or committee member at any meeting, or send an email to chairman@cuca.org.uk.

Senior and Honorary Officers

The Association has Honorary Officers comprising a President, any number of Patrons and up to 20 Vice-Presidents. These offices must be held by people of distinction who are supporters of the Conservative cause. The Senior Treasurer is a member of the House of Regents of the University.

President
The Rt Hon. The Lord Howard of Lympne, C.H., Q.C., P.C. 

Graduate of Peterhouse, Former Home Secretary and Leader of the Party 2003-05.

 

 

Vice-President
The Rt. Hon. Andrew Mitchell MP 

Graduate of Jesus College, Secretary of State for International Development 2010-

 

 

Senior Treasurer
Dr Nigel Allington of Downing College 

The Senior Treasurer, who must be a senior member of the University, is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Association and supervising of the Association’s accounts.

Chairman
Edward Turnham, Christ’s College 

The Chairman is responsible for the overall running of the Association and in particular is charged with the organisation of the programme of events for the period of his office.

The Vice-Chairman assists the Chairman in his duties and shall take over the role of Chairman next term.

Junior Treasurer
Nicholas Crawford, Caius College 

The Junior Treasurer, under the supervision of the Senior Treasurer, is responsible for the financial affairs of the Association.

Campaigns Officer
Peter ‘PG’ Kurilecz, Christ’s College 

The Campaigns Officer is responsible for organising campaigns and events which promote any cause of the Conservative Party.

Secretary
John Messent, Caius College 

The Secretary is responsible for the the administration of the Committee and planning the activities of the Association two terms in advance.

Registrar
Sarah Bennett, Girton College 

The Registrar is responsible for: membership; recording attendence at meetings; publicising the Association’s events; and fundraising for the Association.
