Lent Term’s events included:
The Chairman’s Gin and Tonic Party – which got the term off to a great start;
Dr Madsen Pirie – our first speaker of the term who spoke on the possibility of Scottish Independence and how this could effect British Politics;
The first Port and Cheese Party;
Andrew Mitchell M.P. – Shadow Secretary of State for International Development and a former CUCA chairman;
The Westminster Tea Party – where CUCA met 35 Conservative M.P.s including our President The Rt. Hon Michael Howard M.P., the Shadow Deputy Chief Whip Andrew Robathan M.P., and several other members of the Shadow Cabinet;
The Debate against the Labour Club – at the Cambridge Union featuring Timothy Gardiner, George Murphy and Stephen Parkinson for CUCA against Luke Pearce, Adam Swersky and Tim Stanley for CULC;
The Rt. Hon. Oliver Letwin M.P. – Head of the Conservative Research Department and Chairman of the Policy Review;
The second Port and Cheese Party;
The Chairman’s Dinner at Emmanuel College with Brooks Newmark M.P as our guest speaker.
