Michaelmas term’s events included talks by:
The Rt. Hon. Michael Howard QC MP, the former leader of the Conservative Party and our current President who addressed a packed Union Chamber;
The Hon. Bernard Jenkin MP, until recently the Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party who spoke on the Party’s selection of candidates;
The Rt. Hon. Kenneth Clarke QC MP, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and CUCA chairman in 1961.
Michaelmas term’s Social events included:
The traditional Chairman’s Dinner which was held at Gonville and Caius College with Stephen Parkinson as our guest speaker;
Two CUCA Port and Cheese Partys the first with Dr Madsen Pirie as our guest speaker and the second with Guido Fawkes;
The annual Freshers’ Squash in Caius College during Freshers’ week;
A Drinks Reception with the Coningsby Club.
We also held two policy pub meets, during the term, the first to discuss the Party’s taxation policy and the second to discuss the new Party Logo.
