Easter term’s events included talks by:

Douglas Carswell MP, author of the controverial ‘Direct Democracy: An Agenda for a New Model Party’ who gave a very interesting talk about about decetralisation and Conservative efforts to cut through swathes of red tape;

Jeremy Hunt MP, Shadown Spokesman for Disability, who spoke about his views on the reforms which a Conservative Government would introduce into schools, hospitals and transport;

Greg Hands MP, former CUCA chairman from Lent 1988, who spoke on the reform of the Conservative Party and his memories of CUCA from the ’80s.

Last term’s Social events included:

The traditional Chairman’s Dinner which was held at St. Catharine’s College with Dr Madsen Pirie as our guest speaker;

The annual Mayweek Garden Party in Selwyn College Gardens;

The second ever CUCA Port and Cheese Party!

We also held two policy pub meets, as a break from revision in exam term, to discuss firstly the environment and secondly ID Cards.
